The Sound Tigers look to come away from this weekend with at least one win under their belts as they face off again with the Portland Pirates. This will be the second meeting this weekend between the two teams, as they played on Friday night. Portland won the game 3-1 after scoring two goals in a span of 13 seconds late in the second.
Portland 4-0-0-0, has continued to roll after defeating the Sound Tigers on Friday night as they beat the Springfield Falcons on Saturday by a score of 4-2. They lead the Atlantic Division with 8 points and 18 goals for.
Bridgeport 1-3-0-0, continue to have trouble finding the back of the net. They would fall to the Hartford Wolf Pack 2-1 on Saturday night. The Sound Tigers are in last in the Atlantic Division with 2 points and last in goals for in the Atlantic with 8.
Key Players:
For Bridgeport, rookie center David Ullstrom, is playing a very well rounded game. A great two way center, Ullstrom has been playing on a line with Matt Martin and Jesse Joensuu, a line that has generated many great scoring opportunities. Look for Ullstrom to set up his line mates with good passes and watch as he will almost always be the first forward back into the defensive zone to help out the defenseman and his goalie.
For Portland, keep your eye out for Mark Mancari, who in four games this season has 5 goals and 5 assists. He leads Portland in points with 10 and is a +8 in plus/minus. Mancari, flanked by winger Luke Adam should team up to be the biggest threat today to the Sound Tigers. Adam is second on the team in scoring with 8 points in four games.
