Sound Tigers defense falls apart losing to Hartford 7-1

The Sound Tigers were missing four key players last night, as they took the ice against the Hartford Wolf Pack, and it showed as they were owned by the Wolf Pack, 7-1.

In the first, Hartford's power play was on fire, at 9:25 with Jeremy Yablonski in the box for a sketchy tripping call, Hartford Mats Zuccarello found himself wide open in the slot and put one past Bridgeport's Nathan Lawson to make it 1-0. A short time later, Micheal Haley went to the box after being called for boarding. Jeremy Williams would score on a shot from the point that tipped off a Sound Tiger stick and up past the glove of Lawson to make it 2-0. With four seconds remaining in the first, Zuccarello found himself again wide open in the slot giving Lawson no chance to stop the shot, 3-0 Hartford. Shots in the period, For Hartford 12 and for Bridgeport 5.

The Sound Tigers couldn't find a way to stop the Wolf Pack power play in the second as Zuccarello got the hat trick. Carrying the puck over the line and into the slot he took a wrister that beat a screened Lawson making it 4-0. After a good rush by the Sound Tigers, they were caught deep in the zone and Hartford came back on a three on one. Even a diving Katic couldn't prevent Kelsey Tessier from tapping home the pass, past a splitting Lawson, making the score 5-0. Shots in the Period for Hartford 13 and Bridgeport 8.

Hartford's power play continued to be effective as not even two minutes into the third Williams put one through the arm of a two pad stacked Lawson to make it 6-0, Hartford had it's forth goal on the power play. The Sound Tigers got on the board however as Robin Figren put one past Chad Johnson on an almost impossible angle and made it 6-1. Hartford got one more from Dane Byers to make it 7-1. There was some rough stuff at the end seeing Yablonski and Soryal drop the gloves, which turned into a hugging match more than anything. Tempers flared towards the end, but nothing too big would come out of it. Shots in the period for Hartford 6 and the Sound Tigers 12.
